As part of our mandate, the Water Resources Commission plays a key coordinating role in fostering collaboration across national and regional water-related platforms. We work closely with stakeholders to manage shared water resources efficiently and equitably.
Our coordination efforts include engagement with Transboundary Water Bodies such as the Volta Basin Authority and other international frameworks to ensure peaceful and sustainable use of water resources across borders. Through these partnerships, we support harmonized policies, data sharing, and joint project implementation with neighboring countries.
We also coordinate Water Hazard Risk Management Initiatives, which address climate-sensitive threats like floods and droughts. These efforts involve aligning national strategies and interventions with early warning systems, contingency planning, and sustainable resource allocation, ensuring that communities are better prepared and more resilient to climate-induced water risks.
