WRC Presents Groundwater Quality Monitoring Report to Ga West Municipal Assembly

The Water Resources Commission (WRC) officials presented findings from a pilot groundwater quality monitoring exercise conducted in the Ga West Municipality.
The pilot exercise, undertaken in June 2024, involved physicochemical and bacteriological testing of wells, boreholes, and storage tanks in the municipality’s four zonal councils.
The WRC team recommended that the Assembly actively engage and sensitize residents on the importance of regularly testing their boreholes and wells to ensure their safety. Additionally, the officials advised on cleaning water storage tanks or polytanks at least twice a year. They emphasized that periodic water quality checks are essential in preventing potential health risks associated with contaminated groundwater.
