Groundwater Data Management

Groundwater is a critical resource for domestic, agricultural, and industrial use across Ghana. The Water Resources Commission (WRC) systematically collects, collates, and disseminates groundwater data to ensure its sustainable use and protection.

Our work involves monitoring groundwater levels, mapping aquifers, and assessing recharge rates and abstraction pressures across key basins. We collaborate with local authorities, drilling agencies, and international partners to generate reliable data that informs national water security policies and supports responsible development.

Through open access to groundwater information, the WRC promotes informed decision-making and fosters sustainable water use in both rural and urban areas.
